The invention relates to electronics and automation, in particular to processes of conversion of AC energy in input to AC energy in output for changing voltage without intermediate conversion into constant current using devices performed on semiconductor elements with a control electrode and with elements intended for close and open contacts. In the method for regulation of AC voltage it is fulfilled conversion of voltage into sequence of bipolar pulses having substantially higher frequency than frequency of AC input voltage, duration of which determines voltage magnitude being regulated; the said conversion is realized by means of anti-phase closing and opening two switches. Increase and decrease of voltage magnitude is realized by means of commutation of corresponding inputs and outputs of corresponding relays. The invention allows extension of application of such process, and also reliability increase with provision of continuous current in input of the load.
