Yes, protection of unregistered industrial designs exists, but the protections have significant limitations — this is what Ukrainian patent attorney Dmytro Bondarenko says.

This protection begins to operate from the moment the industrial design is made public, but is short-lived and narrow — it applies only to cases of identical replicas of the object.

Thus, the protection granted to unregistered designs provides weaker protection than those protections provided for through registered industrial designs.
