According to the author, her inspiration for creating such a product arose from her love for comfortable clothing, which at the same time emphasizes the individuality of the owner. Faced with the problem of finding truly interesting and creative clothing that meets changing trends, she decided to create something completely new.
The essence of the idea was ingeniously simple: to create a jacket in which the main parts remain unchanged, and the print insert on the back can change according to trends or mood. This combination of practicality and creativity allows the owner to be different every day, having only one jacket, offering style, economy and freedom of expression. The 7DEX brand allows you to easily change your clothing style any day of the week, thanks to incredible prints that can be changed using a zipper.

The registration procedure included several key stages:
1. Analysis and Determination of the Scope of Protection
Our experts carefully analyzed the information provided by the client, the unique feature of the industrial design and established whether it met the criteria for protection. The costs were calculated and the optimal scope of legal protection was established, which depended on the images submitted and applies to any industrial design that creates a similar overall impression.
2. Classification According to the Locarno system
We determined the appropriate class and subclass according to the International Classification of Industrial Designs (Locarno Classification), which allowed us to avoid conflicts with similar designs and ensure the full scope of legal protection.
3. Preparation of Graphic Images
This stage was critically important, since the images of the product directly affect the scope of legal protection of the industrial design. We established the views of the images that would ensure the maximum scope of protection of the industrial design and asked the client to provide appropriate photographs of the product.

4. Drafting of the Description of the Industrial Design
A detailed description was prepared, containing information on the intended use, indication of the product to which the design is applied, the essential features of the design, and other particulars relevant to the application.
5. Preparation and Submission of an Application for Registration
The application was drawn up and submitted, taking into account all the requirements of Ukrainian IP laws and regulations. The industrial design was disclosed clearly and completely, presenting its essential features in a manner sufficient for understanding the scope of protection.
6. Payment of Necessary Fees and Duties
As the application process progressed, we ensured the fulfillment of all mandatory payments at their respective stages.
7. Prosecution and Grant
Our specialists carried out the full prosecution of the application, including monitoring deadlines, receiving documents and informing the client about the progress of the process, up to and including receiving and transferring the industrial design certificate in both electronic and paper forms.
What advantages did the client receive as a result of registering an industrial design?
After completing all final procedures and formalities, our client was issued the certificate for their industrial design, which confers the following advantages:
- Long Term Protection — 5 years of valid property rights starting from the date of filing of the application for it’s registration with the opportunity for extension up to a total of 25 years;
- Licensing Rights — the right to grant any licensee permission (issue a license) to use the industrial design on the basis of a licensing agreement;
- Assignment Rights — the right to transfer the intellectual property rights of the industrial design to a successor in title;
- Protections Against Infringements — the prevention of third parties from making, selling, or importing articles bearing or embodying a design that is a copy, or substantially a copy, of the protected design, when such acts are undertaken for commercial purposes.
It is worth noting that thanks to the registration of this industrial design, it was possible to achieve very broad protection, which comes close to protecting the very idea of a jacket with a removable insert, regardless of the specific pattern on the insert or the style of the jacket.
